Engagement models
All customers shall fall into one of the three.
- Frappe Support + Frappe Consulting [for vanilla projects, no customisation]
- Frappe Support + Frappe Consulting + Partner Customisation
- Frappe Support + Partner Consulting + Customisation
All customisation requests will be delivered by the partner and will be quoted separately.
Questions related to self-hosting, erpnext.com, and frappecloud.com
ERPNext.com
You will find a good number of these questions already on our website. This will try to be an expansion to the already existing FAQs. This is for both, the current parntership program as well as customers (self hosting, FC, or erpnext.com)
1. ERPNext is free, why do I have to pay?
Yes, ERPNext is a free and opensource software. We are not charging you for the product itself, rather the services like hosting, support, and product warranty. If you're still not convinced to pay for our services, go ahead and download the source code.
2. Why should I opt for your services? Can't I just host/implement/customize this myself?
You absolutely can! However, when running a server yourself you will also have to look into things such as getting the right configuration, setting up mail servers, looking after uptime, errors, etc. Basically, do the job of a DevOps.
ERPNext is also designed to be as easy to implement as possible. Though, people always need some guidance and that's exactly what we do with onboarding and consultantion plans.
If ERPs and server management are not your core strength and you want to avoid the headache, you can opt for our services.
4. What does the subscription price include?
The subscription price on erpnext.com bundles in the following:

5. What if I need additional customization/features/implementation?
You're in luck. You can opt for a consultation pack from our end to avail added services.
6. I like ERPNext alot but I rather host this myself.
Sure! In that case you might want to checkout Frappe Cloud which is built for ERPNext hosting. This way you can still continue supporting us as an organization, and ERPNext as a software.
7. Your cost seems too high. I got this guy who's charging me just $20 an hour on Freelancer/Upwork/Fiverr
That's great! However we cannot gurantee the services provided by such individuals. We would recommend you to rather look for approved partners if you're not comfortable working directly with us.
A slightly extreme approach: What would you prefer? Getting low cost and low quality work now and running around to fix it later? Because that's how these projects usually end up!
8. You're pricing seems too high!
For an ERP, ERPNext is very competively priced. What are you comparing us that lead you to say this. Did you have a number in mind or are you comparing us to a competitor?
9. I want to self-host/opt for a different provider for security reasons

We are ISO 27000 certified. This means we follow strict information security standard on our infrastructure.
Frappe Cloud
1. How does the pricing work?
You can check out this detailed blog on how the pricing works. which is resource based billing. Long story short, every plan comes with a certain resource quota per day. As per your plan, you will have a fixed quota. Every day use will count against your quota. On exceeding for a day, you will not be able to further perform some functions.
2. Do I get server access like AWS, Google Cloud, etc?
No. Currently we do not provide server access on either of our platforms.
3. Is support bundled in along just like erpnext.com?
No. Frappe Cloud does not include product/functional/bug-fix support like on erpnext.com. A support plan needs to be purchased separately for this.
4. If there's no support on Frappe Cloud, who do I reach to in case of billing/performance issues?
Issues related to billing, site performance, or anything else related to hosting can be raised on the support portal. Kindly do not use this for product support. Consider subscribing with us or a partner for the same.
Self Hosting
1. Why is the cost of support same as on erpnext.com if I'm bearing the server costs?
Good question. When you opt for sel-hosted support, our team also provides additional DevOps support for it, i.e., server support. This includes installation, updates, and performance reviews as well. Over cloud, this cost averages out for multiple users.
Additionally, we like to keep it simple for our customers. However, the minimum ask for self-hosted service is 20 users. For lower number of users, opting for our cloud is always better as it cuts through additional overhead.
2. Should I self-host or go for your cloud?
There is no right answer to this question.
You have both the options available. If you decide to go with the self-hosted instance, DevOps Support component will be applicable in the pricing.
However, if you do not have these capabilities in house, then going with our cloud (Frappe Cloud) would be the best.
You can look at FrappeCloud which allows you to scale dynamically like other cloud providers whereas options for doing so would be limited on an on-prem setup.
