Frequently asked questions

1. If ERPNext is free and open-source, how do you make money?
ERPNext is a free and open-source software and always will remain so. You can install this software locally and host it on your server and pay us absolutely nothing for running it and managing it on your own. While the product is free, we at Frappe offer hosting and enterprise support services to assist you in your journey and charge a fee for that. Hosting and enterprise support are the primary revenue sources for us, and by opting for these, you not only get exceptional hosting and support services but also support our developers and maintainers in continuing to build better products for the world.
2. Do you have paid features hidden behind paywalls?
No. Unlike other companies that mislead customers with open-source claims and eventually require payment for enterprise features, we are 100% open-source. Our source code has been on GitHub for 17 years.
3. Does Frappe provide implementation services
No, Frappe does not provide any implementation services. We have a global network of partners who provide services for implementation, customization, migration, and more. This helps us focus on building high-quality products and also means we don't compete with our partners for business. Here is the list of our partners: https://frappe.io/partners/list.
4. What are the paid offerings provided by ERPNext?
Paid offerings can be categorized into the following:

Frappe Cloud Hosting: A monthly subscription in which you can choose the processing power available for your ERP instance through Frappe Cloud. Frappe Cloud hosting above $50/month also comes with an application warranty.

Hybrid Cloud: You can connect your own servers to the Frappe Cloud application under our hybrid cloud offering.

Enterprise Support: If you're a large enterprise, you can choose premium support that includes product warranty, enterprise SLA, a dedicated manager, technical consulting, and more.
5. Can I host ERPNext on my own servers and avail only L2 support?
Yes, this option is only available for large companies who opt for Enterprise Support. Otherwise, the only other way to get support is with Frappe Cloud hosting.
6. How is the Enterprise Support priced?
You can get in touch with our sales agents by filling out this contact form: frappe.io/contact-us.
7. How does Frappe Cloud billing work?
In your free trial, you will be given free access to ERPNext for 14-days.
Once the trial ends, you will have to subscribe to a Frappe Cloud plan to continue using your site. For subscribing to a plan, you can add your card or add prepaid credits to your wallet (via available payment modes), or make an annual wire transfer to us, whichever method is suitable for you.
