At Frappe, we do not have any hierarchy. You are responsible for your own growth, it is a self driven process. However, there is a constant need for guidance not only for new joinees but also for the older folks. Hence, we have a mentor system. But first let's understand the difference between a buddy and a mentor.
Buddy
- If you are a new joinee, you will be assigned a buddy until your probation period. Why do you need a buddy?
- A new joinee needs to understand the company, its culture, how it functions, the core values, processes, etc Buddy is like a go to person who would help you understand these as well as cater to your queries so that you do not get lost
- Also since we work remotely, you may not meet everyone physically for a long time. The buddy can be your ice breaker for this
How do I pick a mentor?
Mentor
- Once you become permanent, you may still have certain queries or may need some sort of guidance. That's where the mentor will play a huge role
- You can pick your own mentor provided that person is also ready to mentor you. There has to be a mutual constant
- Your mentor should have completed at least a year in Frappe
