First month in Frappe

Day 1 in Frappe

  1. Attend the orientation session.
  2. Install Raven. We use Raven to communicate with team members. You can ping Sydel (mailto:sydel@frappe.io) sydel@frappe.io ) and request to be added to the below groups. There are several project, department, and theme-specific groups to which you will be added later on.
  3. Frappe: DFTBA - This is an all-employee group for general-purpose discussion.
  4. No Office Talks - This is an all-employee group for informal discussions. Music, arts, events, philosophy, etc.
  5. Submit documents. The list of documents to be submitted is mentioned in your offer letter.
  6. Check out the company website https://frappe.io/. Especially the blogs - here is a curated list for new recruits
  7. Get company email login credentials from Sydel D'souza ( sydel@frappe.io ) and log in at https://accounts.google.com/. Use yourname@iwebnotes.com as the user name while logging in. Set your default outgoing email id to yourname@erpnext.com. You can do this by clicking on Settings (Gear Icon) > See All Settings > Accounts > make default.
  8. Activate your account on https://frappe.io/. This is the ERPNext instance we use to manage our company. Your company email id is the user name and you would have received a password in your email inbox.
  9. Create an account on Gameplan. This is an internal (employee-only) discussion forum. Check out the Who Am I thread, see who your colleagues are, and introduce yourself there.
  10. Create an account and checkout community discussion forum at https://discuss.erpnext.com/. Gameplan is an employee-only discussion forum. Discuss is open to the public.
  11. Set a Display Picture (DP) on Telegram, Gameplan, Discuss, and Frappe.io

Week 1 in Frappe

  1. Get your Mac! You can contact either Sydel D'souza (sydel@frappe.io) or Prakash Hodage (prakash@erpnext.com) for this.
  2. Get to know your buddy! Buddy is a go-to person for any query that you may have. Sydel D'souza will assign a buddy to you.
  3. Create a trial account on erpnext.com and frappecloud.com to explore our products.
  4. Browse through our user manual. You can find video tutorials, webinars, and conference talks on the ERPNext YouTube Channel.
  5. Update your social media profiles.
  6. Follow ERPNext on social media.

  13. Check various Frappe repos on GitHub and 'Star' the repos you like.
  14. Attend your first FF (Friday Forum). Friday forum is an all-employee discussion on various topics. FF is generally scheduled from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM on Fridays. It is not mandatory to attend all FFs but it is highly encouraged to do so.

Month 1 in Frappe

  1. Prepare for your first Open Day.
  2. Learn about internal Certifications and target to complete the relevant certifications within first four months. Failure to complete evals within four months will result in escalation to performance review commitee.
