New project

Allocation

A New Project is always allocated to an Implementation Consultant looking at the Bandwidth he/she has and accordingly a project with and estimated timeline is allocated.

Planning (project / task doctype)

  • Once a Project has been assigned to you, you need to create a Project from the Customer list which would already have been created by the Sales team.
  • To know more about the Customer's company and what they essentially do, you can also read the details of the same from the Lead list and Lead Qualification DocTypes present in frappe.io
  • Tasks and Sub Tasks can then be defined in the Project master using which you can plan on how to go about and execute the whole Implementation process that is from Module wise training to their Go Live.
  • Weekly stand ups along with the training process can also be scheduled and the Meeting Agent of every meeting can be shared while scheduling a meeting with the Customer.

Time tracking

  • After an estimated number of hours have been decided and the payment for the same has been completed by the Customer, 'timesheets' can be used to keep a track of the number of hours exhausted as well as the number of hours remaining. An automated Report on the number of exhausted and remaining hours can also be created and shared on weekly basis with the Project Champion as well as their team in order to keep them updated about the same.

  • We at Frappe follow the Agile methodology of Implementation until the customers have successfully gone live. Across 850+ implementations, we’ve learned that Agile is far superior to Waterfall and delivers a higher success and satisfaction rate.Agile gets the ball rolling so that our clients can start using ERPNext features in production as soon as possible. The goal is to start using ERPNext in the vanilla form first and add the customizations later.

  • Under customer priorities, you can then define phases, define sprints and share the same with your Customer which will promote transparency throughout the whole process as well.

  • A detailed explaination on the same is given Here: How Implementation works
