Sept-embers

If August was the fire, then September was what glowed after. The chairs from Frappeverse are stacked, and the stickers have found new laptops.

No stage, no spotlight this month. Just a lot of us with our heads down, getting things done. Our products got a little sharper, the podcast got three new voices, and the office is about to get twelve new faces. And in the midst of this, we planned events in four cities in the Middle East.

Here’s what kept burning.

Highlights from September
Product Updates
Follow-ups on autopilot
Frappe CRM now chases routine follow-ups for you. Set a trigger and an action, and Workflow Automations handles it for every matching lead or deal: welcome emails, reminders, lead scoring, deal updates, with no code required.
Automations in CRM
TDS, filed from payroll
India Payroll can now file your quarterly TDS return straight from Frappe HR. The return builds itself from salary slips, matches your challans, and gets filed without any exports or re-keying. Form 16 for every employee is just a click away.

Frappe Karavan

Frappe is touring the Middle East! After Frappeverse Egypt last year, the one thing we brought home was the warmth of the ecosystem there. So we're going back, and this time we're not stopping at one city. Taking a cue from Frappe Yatra, we're turning it into a journey: four partner and community led events in Cairo (21 Nov), Riyadh (24 Nov), Doha (26 Nov) and Dubai (28 Nov).

The Frappe team will be on a Karavan (journey) with along with community members from across the region. Expect talks from local partners, stories from businesses already running on Frappe, and plenty of time to meet the people building around you.

Frappe School

September brought two new courses. Umair Sayyed's ERPNext Implementation Guide is now live on YouTube and Frappe School, and Vibhav Katre's ERPNext v16 course is underway on YouTube.

In October, four batches open up:

New in the Marketplace

This month, four new apps joined the Frappe Cloud Marketplace, built by partners and developers who keep finding new ground to cover. Check out Frappe Cloud Marketplace for more integrations on your Frappe site.

Events & Community
On 5th September, Frappe co-hosted the second edition of Democracy at the Workplace along with Codewave, Semco Style, and Simplewise. 40 attendees discussed ideas on management and practices within a democratic workplace. Here are some clicks from the Codewave office.
Democracy at the Workplace 2026: Bangalore

The Frappe team also sponsored and attended IndiaFOSS in Bengaluru, as usual. Organised by FOSS United, it's one of the few places where we get to meet students, fellow open source projects, and the wider FOSS community all at once.

Some of our own team first found their way to Frappe through IndiaFOSS, so it always feels a bit like going back to where things began. Our booth stayed busy, mostly with students curious about building on Frappe or interning with us, and our new stickers found plenty of new laptops (again). Faris and Neha both gave talks.

Frappe at IndiaFOSS 2026
Looking forward, apart from Frappe Karavan, we have a community meetup in Nairobi organised by Navari Ltd., Frappe Partner. While annual events like Frappeverse are a great opportunity to bring the community together, local events help us go a layer deeper. On November 21st, join us at Sarit Centre in Nairobi for Frappe - Kenya Connect.
Meetup in Kenya
Community-led events have always been an integral part of what Frappe is. We’re inviting anyone interested in hosting a local event, webinar, or meetup anywhere in the world to propose their event here.

Business Updates

Frappe Business Apprenticeship
Meet the new cohort
Twelve apprentices join us on 5th October for our October to December cohort. Across two days of interviews in our Mumbai office, we met candidates who travelled in from across India and even Dubai. They'll spend the next three months working across sales, product consulting, marketing, support and design.
Raising the bar for partners
We're simplifying the Frappe Partner Program into three tiers: Bronze, Silver and Gold. The Entry and Emerging tiers will be phased out, with existing partners given until 31st March 2027 to reach Bronze. Being a Frappe Partner should mean real commitment and capability, and we want the tag to be something worth working towards.

The Frappe Podcast

Episode 24, 25 & 26 of TFP

Three new conversations landed on The Frappe Podcast this month.

In Episode 24, Himanshu Kanwar, COO of Precious Alloys, talks about moving off SAP after six months of running it side by side with ERPNext, with a ransomware attack thrown in along the way. In Episode 25, Suraj Shetty, the person behind Frappe Builder, looks back on eight years at Frappe, a sabbatical, and building in the age of AI. And in Episode 26, partners Basawaraj Savalagi and Vidit Shah discuss how AI is turning implementation consultants into one-man armies.
