Frappeverse 2024 is here!
October kicked off with Frappeverse 2024, and what a start it was! The community conference drew over 1,000 folks from around the globe. It was fantastic to see familiar faces and welcome new ones, all united by a shared passion for open-source Frappe apps. The conference was brimming with insightful talks and inspiring energy—if you missed it, you can catch the sessions from Track 1 on our livestream links (Day 1 and Day 2), and we’ll soon have Track 2’s edited videos up on YouTube.
Team Frappe also made its debut at GITEX in Dubai this month—our first international conference in collaboration with our Middle Eastern partners. The event was a hit, and the response was tremendous! We met both seasoned Frappe users and new folks who were discovering Frappe for the first time, and the feedback was fantastic. We’re already looking forward to more such experiences!

The countdown to is on! We’re buzzing with excitement, and we’re happy to share that we’ve already crossed 1,400 attendees from over 40 countries! With 30+ talks, new product launches, and thought-provoking discussions lined up, this year’s event promises to be one for the books.

Frappe Cloud
Option To Add Regional Compliances
Frappe Cloud made strides in accessibility and compliance this month. Regional compliance apps are now more discoverable and are available when you sign up for ERPNext via Frappe Cloud, making regional compliance smoother for ERPNext users.
We’re also introducing a 14-day free trial for first-time users on their initial site. Previously, credits required card details to start a trial, but now new users can explore Frappe Cloud with ease.
Frappe Cloud Webhooks
Another addition is the webhooks feature, which can enable automated event notifications for activities like site plan changes and other updates. Users can configure webhook for different kinds of events on Frappe Cloud. This will be useful for those who want to build something on top of Frappe Cloud. These events can be logged on users’ own sites, ensuring timely tracking.
In-browser SQL Playground
Finally, we’ve added an in-browser SQL Playground, a new development tool that lets users run DDL, DQL, and DML queries directly in the browser, streamlining database management and troubleshooting.

Geofencing
In HR, we’ve rolled out new geofencing options, allowing location-based check-in restrictions that help maintain attendance accuracy by preventing check-ins from outside specified zones.
Attendance Dashboard (PWA)
Attendance Dashboard has been added for PWA (Progressive Web App) with a unified view of attendance records, shift assignments, and requests, all in one glance. Additionally, we’ve implemented PWA updates like translations and social logins, making it easier for users to navigate and access the app across languages and platforms.

Frappe Learning
This month, Frappe Learning introduced some upgrades to quizzes, adding new features to enrich both teaching and learning experiences. Instructors can now create quizzes with open-ended questions, allowing students to provide detailed, thoughtful answers. Students can also attach images and videos to their responses, adding depth to their submissions, which instructors can then review and grade directly through the portal.
Timed quizzes are now possible as well! Instructors can set a time limit for each quiz, and students will need to complete it within that duration. If time runs out, the quiz auto-submits, ensuring fairness and structure. For more on these updates, explore the blog post.

Frappe CRM received a handy update, allowing users to attach files directly from their device, library, link, or even camera, making file management faster and more versatile.

Customer Portal
Over in Helpdesk, the customer portal has a fresh new look with listview filters, custom column settings, and an improved knowledge base—each update designed to make customer support interactions easier and more organized.
Knowledge Base
In fact, the Frappe team has been using the updated knowledge base for the past two weeks, and it has already helped reduce first-level support tickets by 30%. We highly recommend giving it a try to ease your own support load and cut down on repetitive queries!
