Standard and premium support

Some teams care about reliability and guarantees, while others want to optimise cost. Some want flexibility in server specs, while others look for geographical coverage and data residency.

That’s why Frappe Cloud is built as a multi-cloud platform. You can choose the cloud provider, region, and the setup - based on what fits your use case. Whatever you choose, Frappe Cloud delivers a consistent hosting experience.

Frequently asked questions

How do I decide between site and server plans?

Site plans are shared, compute-based plans designed for simple setups and quick starts. Server plans give you a full virtual machine with dedicated or shared resources and are suited for larger, more flexible deployments.

Can I start with Site plans and move to Server plans later?

Yes. Many teams start with Site plans to try things out and later move to Server plans as requirements grow. Migration effort depends on your setup and usage.

Is Frappe Cloud more expensive than self-hosting?

Not always. While raw infrastructure might appear cheaper when self-hosted, Frappe Cloud often reduces hidden costs such as DevOps effort, downtime risk, failed upgrades, and long-term maintenance.

Is Hetzner meant for production workloads?

Hetzner is best suited for development, testing, and demo environments. However, it can also be used for production workloads as long as there are no mission-critical use cases (which necessitate reliability guarantees from AWS/OCI). For such workloads (where uptime and durability are critical), Frappe recommends dedicated AWS or OCI instances.

Do I need deep technical knowledge to use Frappe Cloud?

No. Frappe Cloud is designed to be self-serve and accessible, while still offering advanced options for teams that need more control.

Will performance be slower on Hetzner?

It can be. When you choose Hetzner, you prioritise affordability over consistent performance. For most development, demo, and testing use cases, Hetzner works well. If you need predictable performance for sustained workloads, choosing a dedicated instance setup on AWS or OCI is recommended.

How do I make payments?

You can choose from 2 payment modes:  Pay via card: The Invoice amount will be deducted directly from your card at the end of the month. Pay via prepaid credit: First, you add money to your prepaid credit wallet using your card, PayPal, or additional payment modes based on your region. The invoice will be deducted from your credit balance at the end of each month. While paying via prepaid credit you should ensure that the necessary credits are available in your wallet for uninterrupted services.

How do I set up my payments?

Go to your Account settings by clicking on your name on the bottom left corner, and go to the Billing tab. Click on the Set up Payment Method button and add your card details. After this is successful, a monthly subscription for you will be created.
