Meet RavenA simple chat app for teams

Calm by design. Open source, with no per-user pricing.
One line about the product.

Easy from the first hello

Work chat is already pretty familiar. You send messages, make channels, share files, reply to something, or start a thread when the conversation gets bigger. Raven keeps those things exactly as straightforward as they sound. Nothing surprising, and that’s kind of the point.

Better together

Your work already lives across different apps. Raven brings the important bits into the conversation - an approval from ERPNext, a leave update from HR, a CRM alert, a Helpdesk issue, or something from a tool you built yourself.
Connect through APIs, webhooks and extensions. Frappe apps can go even deeper: share documents, trigger alerts, take workflow actions, create issues from messages, sync leave status and manage channels automatically.

An unkindness of Ravens. A surprisingly kind pricing model.

No seats. No licences for every person. No doing the maths again every time someone joins. Raven has no per-user pricing - you pay for the infrastructure you use, not for every person who joins.

One quiet teammate, one loud bill

Nikhil Kothari
Raven started with a pretty small observation. We were using Slack at the time, and one person on the team barely used it - but we were still paying for another seat every month. It made us question why work chat had to be priced per person in the first place. And once we started questioning that, we started questioning the product too. Could it be simpler and feel like a piece of craft? More delightful to use? Could it work naturally with ERPNext and the other tools we were already using? So, as we tend to do at Frappe, we decided to build our own.

We’ve been using Raven for quite some time now. And genuinely speaking the experience since V3 has been shipped is phenomenal. I’d say it was shit in V2. But, the team’s rapid speed development in 6 months was phenomenal.
