Welcome Readers! This month started with Frappeverse 2024. It was an event filled with networking with the community and many insightful talks. I shared my journey of the rewrite of the app. If you didn't get a chance to attend you can watch the video here. I also hosted the track 1 of the conference ✌️.

Talk

We had the event at Nehru Planetarium this year which I still find surreal. It was the place I had been to for my school field trips and with my college friends and I never thought that one day I would give a talk at a conference here. It has this exposition on the first floor called the Discovery of India which covers the artistic, intellectual, and philosophical aspects of India through the ages. The library next to it is one of the best libraries I have ever been to.

Each year before the conference we paint a mural that depicts the theme of the conference. This is our tradition and is also a favorite spot for our audience to click pictures with. This year we did two murals, one for the auditorium and the other for the expo area.

The first mural was of cyberpunk Mumbai with the Gateway of India. The second was of our first Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru. The venue is named after him.

Webinar

There was a community webinar last month, where I demonstrated how you can create a course and a batch using Frappe Learning. You can watch it here.

Evaluation and Certification Flow

Evaluators now see a calendar on their profile page that lists all the evaluations they have to look into. Clicking on the event opens up a dialog that shows the details of the evaluation. They can join the evaluation call using the button in this dialog and also record their feedback simultaneously.

When a student passes the evaluation their certificate can be generated right from this dialog. To create a certificate, the evaluator just needs to select the right template and dates and then the certificate automatically gets shared with the student.

By the way, you can create a custom print format of your choice by just creating a print format and using that as the template for your certificate.

Quiz Page

You can now use quizzes independent of a course or a batch. The link to such quizzes can be shared with the target groups to test them directly. The quiz form has a button on the top through which the link to such quizzes can be accessed. Instructors can use the same link to share with the student group.

Course Categories.

When your learning system has a huge list of courses, categorizing helps your students make the right choice. Now the course list has a category selection at the top. When a student chooses a category, the list filters based on the selection. The same also reflects on the URL that can then be shared in Newsletters or target groups to get the right audience.

Enhanced Lesson Editor

Based on feedback received in the past, Course Creators used to find it difficult to add content such as quizzes, images or upload videos. The sidebar on the right wasn't quite user-friendly. This month I decided to refactor the same to give a better experience to the course creators.

Now just clicking on the plus icon in the editor to open up the tools menu gives the user an option to add a quiz or upload content. Whatever selection they make then immediately reflects in the editor. No need to go to the sidebar to add these contents.

Now instead, the sidebar provides help guides and videos for new users on how to add such content. Clicking on the title of the help article opens up a dialog with a video to guide the same.

Payments App Integration

Learning previously only supported Razorpay. This was only good enough for Indian users and was very limiting for the rest of you. A lot of you wanted the Payments app to be integrated with Learning.

So here we are. Payments in Learning can now be done with the Payments app. Just make sure that you have the app installed, then set up the payment gateway of your choice with the right API Key and Secret.

Then when a user tries to purchase a course or a batch, they have to fill in the billing information and on entering the right payment credentials and completing the payment process, they get enrolled in the course or batch they selected.

Branding

Moderators can now customize the branding of their learning system right from the portal. From the settings dialog, they can personalize the branding as per their organization by adding Banner Image, FavIcon, Brand Name, etc.

Thats all the updates from September. If you are someone who uses Frappe Learning for their online courses, please do share your testimonial here.

If you haven't already tried the app, we provide a 14 day free trial that you can check out from here.

"Thank you for sharing these exciting updates! It sounds like Frappeverse 2024 was an amazing event, and I love the idea of the murals depicting the conference theme. The new features in Frappe Learning, especially the enhanced lesson editor and payment integrations, seem incredibly helpful for both course creators and students. I appreciate the effort put into improving the user experience. Looking forward to exploring these updates further!"

Beautiful read, and an insight into an individual I respect and have learned a lot from. Am inspired to trust the process and never give up.

I must say this is a really amazing post, and for some of my friends who provide Best British Assignment Help, I must recommend this post to them.
