The first event I’ve been working on since I joined Frappe a month ago was Frappe Build 2026. When I announced on Gameplan that the tentative (and later final) venue for Frappe Build 2026 was The Mysore Association, Matunga, Rushabh suggested that one of the reasons we were gravitating towards that venue was “nostalgia”. At that time, being a fresher, I was simply clueless about what he was talking about. Later, while reading about previous events, I realised that the first six editions of our main conference, “Frappeverse” (back then it was called the ERPNext Conference) were held there. Choosing The Mysore Association wasn’t simply a happy coincidence; it positioned Frappe Build 2026 as a potential revisitation of our roots.

Like a lot of other individuals who were new to the Frappe ecosystem, I had a simple question: what should I expect from Frappe Build? A quick peek at the previous event websites and the recorded talk playlist on YouTube makes that clear.
Frappe Build is a developer-focused conference where attendees deep dive into technical talks, hands-on workshops, and live coding sessions on and around the Frappe ecosystem.
During a discussion with Nikhil, he spoke about his experience at Frappeverse 2022, where he was delivering a technical talk, and he realised that the focus of the people present was slightly drifting away. From that, he understood the impact that an event like Frappe Build, which focuses on developers, can bring.
However, the aforementioned materials fail to communicate another broad perspective of the event. Whether you’re a newcomer or an experienced developer of the Frappe framework, Frappe Build gives you the podium to engage directly with the community - exchange ideas, present their points of view, and connect with the developers building the products. For Frappe’s engineers, the event offers unfiltered, valuable feedback from real users. It provides insights into where improvements can be made which would have the highest impact. These conversations often translate into tangible outcomes.
In one such instance, Safwan told me about a discussion with a multilingual community member at Frappe Build 2025, where a translation feature in Frappe Drive was requested that would significantly improve the user’s workflow. The feature was implemented and deployed within a couple of weeks, a small example of how closely product development and community input are tied together at Build.

It’s not all serious business at Build, though. Frappe Build 2025 saw contests like Capture The Flag (CTF) and trivia, where bragging rights are very much on the line. For the current edition of Frappe Build, we are announcing Code-Off instead of CTF and the community favourite trivia, for a chance to laugh a little and bond with the community, while remaining in developer mode.
In the third edition of Build, we are eager and excited to welcome all of you. Grab your tickets to Frappe Build on the 3rd and 4th of April at the Mysore Association, Mumbai! See you at runtime!
