Last year’s conference was the first time we stepped beyond ERPNext and became “Frappe”. There was incredible energy with more than 600 participants, slick presentations and great software. People came from all over the world to be inspired, make new friends and catch up with old ones. We are proud of what we have been able to achieve, but there is still so much to be done that it feels like we have just begun. This year we promise to do even better than last year, and here is how we are going to do it.
First, we are making Frappeverse free for everyone. Yes, you read that right. Frappeverse is going to be free to attend (meals and t-shirts will be paid, we are still a scrappy open source project). Second, there is going to be an exhibition space along with the talks, where ecosystem partners can put up their stalls, and third, we are going to be hosting it at the iconic Nehru Center in Mumbai.
Last year we launched an unbelievable array of new products that looked awesome and shared updates on our existing platforms. This year you will see them much more polished and matured with significant new features. Our goal is to build all the software we need to run our organisation, and by extension you can run yours. Not only that, you can look forward to exciting new updates for Framework, ERPNext and HR. And yes, there might be a few surprises as well, no promises though.
Frappe ecosystem partners are going to setup their stalls and showcase their products and services. There is going to be ample space for networking as well. If you are a Frappe partner, don’t miss this opportunity to create a brand for yourself and introduce yourself to the ecosystem by booking your own stall. And yes, we expect more than 1000 participants this time. Along with stalls, you can hear about what the ecosystem is upto with an diverse array of talks. If you have something exciting to share, send in a proposal for a talk that will be watched by thousands across the world.
Personally, I am very excited about the venue as well. Completed in 1985, and designed by world renowned architect IM Kadri, the Nehru Centre is one of the most iconic structures of modern India. Built to commemorate India’s first Prime Minister who embodied the country’s progress into modernity, the Nehru Centre is an important cultural venue in the city and it is a dream come true to host the event in this space.
At the 10th anniversary of the conference, we are once again as excited to meet all of you as we were at the first event. Some feelings just don’t get old.
