I was born in Nashik, Maharashtra (’98) and moved to Mumbai in high school. Most things in my life happened through detours. I started studying Architecture, thinking this was where I could produce maximum value with the things I enjoyed - logic, math, and art. Two months in, I hated it. I didn’t mind the hard work, but I wasn’t enjoying it. Turns out, there was one more realm where these skills act as a foundation - Programming. So I dropped out & joined a BSc. Computer Science degree, the only door still open after missing JEE/CET.
After graduation, I joined Frappe in 2019 through campus placements, not fully knowing what to expect. It was a pleasant surprise! A company with no hierarchy, where freedom came with trust, adults were treated as adults, and talented engineers genuinely building one of the largest open source projects in India. A month into it, when the options to pursue a Master’s degree at VJTI, and continue working at Frappe popped up, I naturally chose the latter one. I later pursued my masters alongside work at the University of Mumbai.
During my early days at Frappe, I found the bench installation terrifying, and my first open day intimidating. All devs seemed to produce brilliant work in less than a month. 20-year-old me came home and told my mom, “Guess I’m going to get fired pretty soon.” From a place of self-doubt and a hunger to learn, I contributed to everything that came my way - Framework, ERPNext, Healthcare, Non-profit projects, and eventually Frappe HR, my biggest piece of work so far. Over time, I began mentoring others, too. This journey sharpened my skills and helped me become a better, more confident, and thoughtful engineer and person.
These days, I'm working on Frappe Studio - a low-code app builder on top of framework + frappe-ui. It's the most challenging project of my career, and I am trying to strike a balance between art & utility to unlock creativity & productivity for the next generation of apps. I've mostly been a generalist, but these days I am focusing and enjoying frontend development more, thanks to Studio.
When I code, quality (aspirational) > speed (I sometimes end up sweating small stuff in this pursuit), depth/polishing > breadth, thinking > writing, understanding the why > memorizing the how.
In my free time, I sing and listen to music (learnt Hindustani Classical & Light music briefly), travel, watch good content, and learn new things. I hate all sports except gym & swimming. I enjoy reading fiction, fantasy, sci-fi, drama, and hate self-help books just as much - I think most of it is obvious and can be summarized in a few pages.
I’m here to create, grow, learn, help, and leave things better than I found them.
