As Global Calcium expanded its pharmaceutical manufacturing operations across Bangalore, Karnataka and Hosur, Tamil Nadu, managing HR operations became increasingly complex. The organization needed a centralized system to simplify employee management and reduce manual effort.

• Attendance was captured through biometric devices, but records did not sync automatically with ERPNext. HR teams had to manually reconcile this data before running payroll, which added effort and caused delays.
• The standard attendance process also lacked flexibility. HR administrators sometimes needed to correct working hours for genuine exceptions, but the system only allowed status changes, not hour overrides.
• Approvals were another bottleneck. Managers had to log into the ERP system to approve every leave request and expense claim, which ate into their time and slowed down HR operations and the employee experience.
• Tracking employee loans and salary advances was largely manual. With repayments handled by hand, payroll processing took longer, and HR needed a structured way to manage lending and repayment schedules.
• Reporting was limited as well. Standard reports could not give HR the operational insight it needed on working hours, attendance trends, leave records, loan status, and general HR activity, so management reports required extra manual work.
• Finally, running HR across two locations, Bangalore and Hosur, created its own challenge. Keeping data consistent between sites was difficult without a centralized HRMS, leading to duplicate work and reduced accuracy.
