Frank & Dvorak initially used many different types of software to manage their diverse array of processes. While this is a normal consequence of growth, it can become burdensome. Frank & Dvorak evaluated different systems, including SAP, but chose ERPNext for its modularity and flexiblity. The major challenge for Frank & Dvorak's IT-partner, the K&K Software AG, was to set up the complex manufacturing process. Usually, there are only few variants of any given item, but Frank & Dvorak sometimes uses thousands of different variants which are only distinguishable by minor differences. Since stakes in motor manufacturing are high, any solution must be precise, efficient and easy to use.
