Story of Frappe Drive
"The idea of building a drive-like application has been floating around in Frappe since 2015. While Frappe Framework has rather robust file handling itself, the need arose for building a standalone solution. As we dug deeper, what began as a simple file-sharing platform evolved into a comprehensive collaboration tool.
When I joined the team, picking up Frappe Drive as a project felt like a natural fit. I had used other open-source tools in this space before, and I was left rather unsatisfied with certain aspects. Some of these tools focused on being all things to all people — prioritising breadth over depth. And let's be real, I was also intrigued by the unique engineering challenges that come with building something like this.
The goal for Frappe Drive is to have a delightful user experience that stands out from other open-source solutions, with a focus on seamless and cohesive collaboration, and if you’re looking for something like this, you should give Frappe Drive a try."
