VP - Partnerships

Mohammad Umair Sayed

Born in 1987, rooted in Mumbai, India. I come from a vernacular medium, and was a top student at a modest school. Like many from my generation, engineering was the default dream, shaped more from family expectations than personal passion. But life had other plans, and I eventually graduated in management, a shift that set the course for everything that followed.

I am grateful to be one of the co-founders of Frappe Technologies. Building the Frappe Framework and ERPNext as open-source, community-first products, especially during times when we had no financial backing,  has been a humbling experience.

Over my 17-year journey at Frappe, I have had the chance to wear many hats. I spent my early years in support, gaining deep product knowledge through real-world challenges. Later, I led the implementation team as we experimented with service-based business models. Post-COVID, I took on the role of VP of Partnerships, traveling across multiple countries to strengthen our global ecosystem. Along the way, I have mentored initiatives like Frappe School (my personal favourite), especially around certification and community learning.

Today, after seventeen years of my journey, I still consider myself a learner. I am inspired by our young team of product builders and community champions, they keep us veterans, grounded, curious and accountable.
