I am Harshit Raizada. I want to build world-class open source products from India, for the world.
My path here has been a little weird. I studied commerce, hated accounts, didn’t want to do an MBA, and somehow ended up studying computer science after originally wanting to study philosophy at a university in Europe. Turns out, I really liked CS and somewhere along the way, I started doing it simply because I enjoy the game
I have been curious about how things work for as long as I can remember. As a kid, that usually meant opening up a microwave, a fridge, or whatever new toy car or helicopter I had just received, and then praying I could put it all back together before my parents got home. Later, after watching Ra.One, I got inspired to make a Snake game in Java. I eventually gave up because playing games was more fun than making them
These days, I jump around quite a bit, sometimes hardware, sometimes cybersecurity, sometimes whatever else catches my curiosity. Outside of computers, I am very into martial arts and MMA, I do a bit of aquascaping, and I have been a gamer for as long as I can remember
Looking back, I have probably been a bit of a misfit in most places I have ended up in. I am quite comfortable with that. I like taking things apart, figuring out how they actually work, and seeing them for what they are rather than what they are supposed to be
(And if you see me around the office being quiet, staring at my screen, looking out of a window, staring at the ceiling, or generally looking like I don’t want to talk to anyone, I probably do. I am just not the most socially active person and tend to be more of a listener than a talker)
