Challenges Faced by Wassal:

  • Fragmented product assortment management: Organizing hundreds of SKUs across different categories and brands was inefficient and prone to error, making it difficult for field teams to access reliable stock data.
  • Difficulty fulfilling customer needs due to high SKU diversity: With varying brand availability and stock levels, it was challenging to match customer preferences in real time.
  • Complex area-based order timing and coverage challenges: Orders had to be grouped and scheduled based on region-specific constraints, leading to delivery delays and route inefficiencies.
  • Lack of pricing flexibility across customer classes and locations: There was no system in place to automatically apply different pricing rules based on customer tier, region, or minimum quantity.
  • Manual control over order limits and delivery constraints: Setting region-specific minimum/maximum order values was a manual process, which often led to inconsistencies and revenue leakage.

  • Smart Solutions developed and integrated a mobile app (now live on Google Play) directly with the ERPNext backend.
  • Field sales representatives and retailers can now place and manage orders through the app, view product catalogs by category/brand, and get real-time visibility into pricing and availability.

  • Advanced item categorization and variant management:  Products are organized using ERPNext’s Item Template and Variant system, allowing intuitive filtering by brand, type, or unit size.
  • Geographic-based pricing and delivery logic: The system assigns pricing rules and delivery slots based on the customer’s assigned zone, reducing operational ambiguity and delays.
  • Automated enforcement of order limits: Minimum and maximum thresholds are dynamically calculated based on area and customer class, reducing manual oversight and streamlining approvals.
  • Centralised control of measurement units and conversions: To reduce errors in sales entry and invoicing, product units are standardized across the system, improving accuracy in reporting and customer communication.
